Busy, Busy, Busy

So, what have we been up to lately? I know I haven’t been updating the blog for a while. Sorry about that, but it’s been busy as hell here. The main reason? We’re moving! My new appartment, including work office, is consuming a lot of time to get in order. I’ll be giving you an update on it this week.

Ik weet dat ik de laatste tijd helemaal geen update op het blog heb gegeven, dus mijn excuses voor het achterstallig werk, zowel hier als in andere werken zoals RPM Vision. De reden hiervoor? We zijn aan het verhuizen! Het nieuwe appartement inclusief werk kantoor, neemt zowat alle tijd in beslag om goed op orde te krijgen. Komende week zal ik hierover een inside look met jullie delen.

In the meantime I’ve been squeezing in some work too though. Our latest assigment was quite a new challenge; TV graphics! I’m proud to say the opening graphics for our national SBS6 channel’s SBS6 Autosport show, mainly the Supercar Challenge shows, are made by me. I have to give credit to Jordy van Kouwen from Bright Sight Media though, for the support and quick information on what kind of settings are required for TV graphic rendering.

In de tussentijd heb ik tussendoor wel nog wat werk verzet. Mijn laatste opdracht was nogal een nieuwe uitdaging; TV graphics! Ik ben dan ook trots om te zeggen dat de openings graphics voor SBS6 Autosports’ Supercar Challenge show videos door mij zijn geproduceerd. Hierbij geef ik ook een special thanks bij aan Jordy van Kouwen van Bright Sight Media, welke me goed wist te voorzien van alle nodige render informatie hiervoor.

Other work was done for the Duitse Autosport Festival, an autosport and tuning event held at the 28th of May at the dutch TT-Circuit Assen. It brings together all the german car brands, like VW, BMW, Mercedes, Audi and a whole paddock Porsches. We’ve made a new teaser trailer for organiser 402automotive.com to use on their promotional websites.

Ander werk wat gedaan is, was voor het Duitse Autosport Festival, een autosport en tuning evenement gehouden op 28 mei op het TT-Circuit Assen. Het brengt alle duitse automerken bij elkaar waaronder VW, BMW, Mercedes, Audi en een heel paddock aan Porsches. We hebben voor organisator 402automotive.com een nieuwe teaser trailer gemaakt om te gebruiken op hun websites.

And there’s a whole lot more of catching up to do. Including some new projects, but also the Time Attack compilations I know you all are waiting for. Now internet has finally been connected again in the new appartment, I’ll be able to keep you posted again a bit more. See you soon!

En er staat nog een heel pak werk klaar wat ingehaald moet worden, inclusief meerdere nieuwe projecten, maar ook de Time Attack compilaties waar menige op aan het wachten zijn. Nu internet eindelijk is aangesloten in het nieuwe appartement, kan ik jullie ook meer up to date houden hierover. Zie jullie snel!

Subaru Trackday 2012 – the video compilation

Here it is, the compilation video of the Subaru Trackday 2012 event held at Circuit Spa Francorchamps the 18th of March 2012. Quite a grey day compared to last year, but the Subarus present sure made it a party!

Hier is die, de compilatie video van de Subaru Trackday 2012 gehouden op Circuit Spa Francorchamps op 18 maart 2012. Het was een vrij grijze dag vergeleken met vorig jaar, maar het toegenomen aantal Subaru’s maakte dat zeker weer goed!

Development Update – Subaru Trackday 2012

The first track event of 2012 was the Subaru Trackday 2012. Circuit Spa Francorchamps once more filled with Impreza’s and other types of the famous rally brand.

Het eerste circuit evenement waar we weer hebben gefilmd in 2012 is de Subaru Trackday 2012. Het circuit van Spa Francorchamps vulde zich weer met tientallen Impreza’s en ander performance materiaal van het rally merk.

Besides our footage shot beside the track, we were able to place some cameras on participating cars, including this Impreza of the All Star Customs tuning team. Thanks again folks!

Naast de footage geschoten vanaf de kant van de baan, konden we ook enkele cameras op deelnemende auto’s plaatsen, waaronder deze Impreza van het All Star Customs tuning team. Nogmaals bedankt heren!

Another car we’ve fitted several cameras on are the Saker Sportscars. These high performance cars use Subaru engines. They also made a pitstop to fulfil the wish of one of the Make A Wish kids. We made a seperate video of that initiative too. We’re expecting to release both videos this week, so stay tuned!

Nog een auto waar we enkele camera’s op hebben kunnen plaatsen is een Saker Sportscar. Deze high performance auto’s gebruiken Subaru motoren. Ze hebben ook een pitstop gemaakt om de wens van een Make A Wish kind in vervulling te zien gaan, wat we uiteraard ook in een video verwerkt hebben. De verwachting is deze twee videos deze week te releasen, dus stay tuned!

Development Update – Streetgasm S2K Challenge

Like I mentioned in my previous post a request came from Streetgasm S2K Challenge’s organisor, Maurice Hartsuiker, to create a video intro of their logo, he can combine with the video footage shot during the epic road rally. You can view the result above.

Zoals ik in mijn vorige post al meldde kwam er een verzoek binnen van Streetgasm S2K Challenge’s organisator, Maurice Hartsuiker, om een video introductie te produceren van hun logo. Deze zal gecombineerd worden met hun eigen video materiaal in trailers en compilatie videos. Hierboven het resultaat.

Development Update – Logo to video

One of our main work assignments these days is the production of logo videos. Companies or event organisations often wish a flashy video edit of the company’s or event’s logo. The number of requests for these are increasing, which I’m very happy with. They’re not only more work for me, but also prove to be a challenge and opportunity to learn every time.

Op het moment is één van onze voornaamste werkopdrachten het verwerken van een bedrijfs- of evenementlogo naar een spetterende video introductie. Het aantal verzoeken hiervoor neemt langzaam toe, waar ik erg blij om ben. Niet alleen omdat het meer werk voor me betekent, maar ook omdat deze iedere keer weer een nieuwe uitdaging en gelegenheid tot leren zijn.

The requesting party can point out what kind of style they’d prefer and from that on out, it’s pretty much getting creative while steering into the clients wishes. Not everything works out right away, since a wish in imagery or videography can look quite different in one mind than the other.

Men kan aangeven welke stijl ze prefereren, maar van daaruit komt het al snel op creativiteit aan. Het is een hele uitdaging en puzzel om binnen grafische vormgeving en videografie meteen volledig alles naar de klant zijn wensen te produceren.

So that’s pretty much what’s going on at the moment. Now March has started actual shooting will also continue on the first automotive events with the Subaru Trackday being the first one on the 18th of March at Circuit Spa Francorchamps.

Dat is dus waar hier momenteel veel aan gewerkt wordt. Nu maart begonnen is zullen we ook weer werkelijk gaan filmen op de eerste automotive evenementen, waarbij de Subaru Trackday het spits afbijt op 18 maart te Circuit Spa Francorchamps.

Automaxx Streetpower 2012 – the Teaser

Here’s the new teaser for the Automaxx Streetpower 2012 event taking place on the 1st of April at TT-Circuit Assen. 402automotive.com requested a refresh of its content. We made it fast-paced just as we’re expecting of the event itself.

Hier is de nieuwe teaser van het Automaxx Streetpower 2012 evenement, wat plaats zal vinden op 1 April te TT-Circuit Assen. 402automotive.com verzocht ons een vernieuwde teaser voor het spektakel gevulde evenement te produceren. We hebben deze teaser een snel tempo gegeven, zoals we ook verwachten van Automaxx Streetpower zelf.

We’re also glad to report we’ll be creating an introduction logo for the upcoming european rally, the Streetgasm 2000 Challenge. A number of 58 performance cars will be travelling through a large part of Europe on various epic roads. Maurice Hartsuiker requested a video edit of their logo to use in their own footage. We’re very excited to see the full coverage of this international automotive adventure.

We zijn ook blij met een nieuwe opdracht, namelijk een video introductie maken van het logo van de europese rally, de Streetgasm 2000 Challenge. Maar liefst 58 performance auto’s zullen door meerdere landen en over verscheidene epische wegen touren deze zomer. Maurice Hartsuiker heeft ons verzocht het logo van deze challenge in een spectaculaire video intro om te dopen, zodat ze deze in hun eigen video coverage kunnen gebruiken. We kijken zeer uit naar die video coverage en gaan in de tussentijd aan de slag om er een mooie video intro voor te produceren! 

Autosport Season 2012 about to start!

The new autosport season in the Netherlands and Belgium is approaching its start of 2012. I’ve just finished an updated teaser for one of the events and it’ll be published online very soon. Care to take a guess what it is?

Het nieuwe autosport seizoen in Nederland en België komt weer snel dichterbij en ik heb zojuist een vernieuwde teaser afgerond voor één van de openende evenementen. Deze zal zeer binnenkort op het internet te zien zijn. Neem maar een gokje waar deze voor is?

In the meanwhile the work on the dutch Time Attack episodes is continuing too. While we already have shot some footage, as seen in an earlier blog post, the main work at the moment is going into graphic development. You can think about animations for scoreboards, interview headers and general accouncement scenes.

In de tussentijd gaat het werk voor de nederlandse Time Attack episodes ook gewoon door. We hebben hier al de eerste interview beelden voor geschoten, zoals te lezen was in een eerder blog bericht, maar op het moment gaat er vooral veel werk zitten in de grafische vormgeving voor de episodes. Denk hierbij aan de animaties voor de scoreboards, interview headers en algemene aankondigings scenes.

We’ve also produced last year’s official compilation and are pleased to continue this corporation with them.

De echte start van ons autosport seizoen met betrekking tot video opdrachten, start met deze; de Subaru Trackday 2012, wederom gehouden op het prachtige circuit van Spa Francorchamps op 18 maart. Vorig jaar hebben we ook de officiële video compilatie voor hen mogen verzorgen en we zijn blij dat deze samenwerking ook dit jaar weer doorgaat.
